When my book came out on September 1, I knew I wanted to honor my great-grandmother, my grandmother, and my mother, all of whom sewed. The story has at its center a wedding–the real wedding of my grandmother and grandfather whose marriage lasted nearly 70 years. Theirs is a true love story, but it didn’t happen without a serious problem that nearly cost them their happily ever after.
